Tori Spelling has been the subject of scrutiny since her teen years, when she starred on "Beverly Hills, 90210." But now the mom of four is particularly peeved about claims that her marriage to husband Dean McDermott is in trouble.

The latest cover of Star magazine alleges that Spelling and McDermott are headed for a $300 million divorce, with headlines blaring, "Tori catches him with other women," "Dean's sick porn obsession revealed," "His cruel taunts: 'You're too fat!'" and "Who will get the kids?"

In an open letter to Star posted on her blog, Spelling reveals that her 5-year-old son, Liam, became upset upon spying the cover during a trip to the supermarket.

He first spotted me on the cover, then Dad, and then a picture of himself and his 3 younger siblings. He was able to read two things out loud, the word DIVORCE (which he proudly sounded out) and the caption above his picture which read "Who will get the kids?" He became terrified. I had to hurry him and his confused 4-year-old sister Stella out of the grocery store and into our car.

She continued:

Driving home I repeatedly told my children, "That magazine doesn't know us. Daddy and I are very happy and in love. There will be no divorce and all of us will remain together as a family". Stella, my literal one, just kept saying "But then why is it on the magazine? Magazines are true." I wish that were always the case.

Last spring, Spelling, 39, jumped to the defense of another mother, Jessica Simpson, after the "Fashion Star" mentor was criticized for her weight gain while pregnant with baby Maxwell.

"When women are pregnant, people need to lay off," Spelling, then pregnant with her fourth child, told Celebuzz. "It's a really special time and you should be able to deal with it in your own terms."
