Bear Grylls Air New Zealand Safety Video Gives In-Flight Tips (VIDEO)

WATCH: Bear Grylls' New In-Flight Safety Video

TV host and survival expert Bear Grylls stars in a new in-flight safety video for Air New Zealand which will be played on the airlines' Airbus A320 fleet.

In the roughly four-minute clip that riffs on his show "Man vs Wild," Bear highlights some of the traditional pre-flight safety routines -- storing carry-on bags, donning a life jacket, using emergency oxygen masks -- while hustling through the picturesque countryside of New Zealand's Routeburn Track, the famed hiking trail on the country's South Island.

It's the first in-flight safety video to be shot outside, the airline says, though it's hardly the first effort Air New Zealand has made at spicing up the traditional in-flight safety video.

In October 2012, the airline unveiled a Hobbit-themed safety clip, and in 2011 they tapped Richard Simmons to tackle the pre-flight briefing. Back in 2009, the carrier's nude safety video went viral.
