MTV personality and professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek is coming to Erie next month for the grand opening of the town's new skate park, which ranks as the nation's first permanent Street League-certified course.

The ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. March 16. The skate park, which opened in January, is located at 450 Powers St.

In addition to Dyrdek, professional Street League skateboarders are scheduled to appear during the opening. There will be autograph opportunities and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Dyrdek created Street League skateboarding and has been a veteran of the industry for 20 years. ___
