Sofia Vergara Flu Foils Oscars Plans, Star Tweets Picture To Dispel Surgery Rumors

Hollywood’s biggest names (and their moms) walked down the Dolby Theatre red carpet Sunday night, but the Oscar glamour wasn’t complete without the voluptuous and bubbly Sofía Vergara.

And while Hollywood was all aflutter over the Academy Awards’ big night, the “Modern Family” star, who was first reported to be undergoing surgery, dismissed hospital rumors by tweeting a picture of herself sick in bed.

On Sunday afternoon, the Daily Mail reported the Colombian actress was hospitalized and awaiting surgery due to unknown causes. The British tabloid also added that along with cancelling her Oscars plans, Vergara would not appear at Madonna’s party as expected.

Hours later a source close to the actress told HuffPost Celebrity that “Sofía is fine and there is nothing to worry about.” Perhaps unconvinced that this would be enough to dispel rumors, Vergara tweeted “proof” that she had missed the event due to a flu.
