Dave Matthews Did Not Buy Malibu Mansion (UPDATE)

LOOK: Rock Star Dave Matthews Moving To Malibu

CORRECTION: 2/15 3:53 p.m. -- A representative for Dave Matthews reached out to The Huffington Post and said that the singer did not buy this Malibu home, nor does he own any real estate in California.

PREVIOUSLY: Rocker Dave Matthews is moving to the Golden State.

Matthews just dropped $6.6 million on a Malibu mansion, according to TMZ. The two-acre lot boasts access to a private beach, ocean views and a 900-square-foot guest house. His future celebrity neighbors include Bob Dylan, Barbra Streisand and Pink.

The Real Estalker reports that Matthews purchased the palatial Malibu pad from Maura Kaplan, a real estate investor and daughter of actor Leslie Nielsen. The "European Country" style home has six bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms, rustic wood beaming, a multi-level terrace, a two-car garage and an apple orchard.

This isn't Matthews' only abode. The musician has a home in Seattle and extensive land in Charlottesville, Va., with a winery and recording studio, Zillow notes. He also owns Blenheim Vineyards, located in the Southern town.

Malibu will likely only be a vacation spot for the Dave Matthews Band frontman, whose concerts raked in more than $500 million in 10 years.

Matthews, father to twin daughters Stella and Grace and son August with wife Ashley, previously revealed that he plans to send his kids to school in Seattle. “We haven’t had a conversation about relocating school systems, which is really the big [question]," he told GeneStout in August. "It hasn’t come to the dining room table. So at the moment, the only middle schools we’re looking at are in the Seattle area. That’s the only way I can answer that question."

Continuing, “We really do love Seattle, and we’ve got a great community up there. It’s a great city... For the most part, I feel comfortably middle class in Seattle.”
