Eve Suggests Britney Spears Didn't Sing On 'Scream & Shout' (VIDEO)

Britney's Camp Hits Back At Eve

Rap singer Eve threw some shade at Britney Spears when she suggested the pop superstar didn't actually sing on will.i.am's hit new track, "Scream & Shout."

During a recent sit-down with Andy Cohen for "Watch What Happens Live," Cohen asked Eve about Spears' British accent on the single for will.i.am's upcoming album, "#willpower."

"I heard that might not be Britney," says Eve.

"Really?" asks Cohen. "Why? It's someone else in the studio?"

"That's what I heard," says Eve. "But, you know, I don't know. It could be Britney. But I heard it wasn't. I don't know."

Eve, who is getting ready to drop her first album in 11 years, might have tried to play coy, but Spears' publicist didn't mince words when he snapped back at the rap star.

"It's absolute BS," publicist Jeff Raymond told TMZ. "Britney sang the song. Will.i.am wanted her for this song and she sang on it."

A source from the studio also got snippy. "Was Eve even in Studio," the source said to TMZ. "Didn't know. She's clearly jealous. I didn't even know she still sings."

Will.i.am previously explained Spears' British accent during an interview with 102.7 KIIS FM, saying it just went with the "vibe" of the song since his career is "monstrous" in the U.K.

He also has had nothing but praise for Spears' work. "The first time she came in and recorded she did something that was a mistake in one of the takes that she took," he told MTV about recording "Scream & Shout," first released in November. "I was like, 'Oh, no, no, you did it wrong.' Also then she did it, what I thought was right. And then I listened to it back I'm like, 'That thing I thought was the mistake was actually the vibe.' "

On Thursday, a remix video for the song leaked online featuring Hit-Boy, Lil Wayne, Wacka Flocka Flame and Diddy.
