Austin Butler has some big shoes to fill ... literally.
The 21-year-old actor is currently starring as the handsome Sebastian Kydd on the prequel of "Sex and the City," CW's new hit series "The Carrie Diaries" -- where he catches the eye of everyone's favorite New York City gal, Carrie Bradshaw (AnnaSophia Robb). But although he loves being the show's leading man, Butler has his sights set on beating out an old "Sex and the City" competitor.
"I’d like to be the new Mr. Big (Chris Noth). He’s so cool, he’s such a bad a--," Butler told HuffPost Celebrity at the Wildfox presentation during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NYC on Feb. 6. "I was telling people the other day that I want to have a really cool fight scene," he continued. "I haven’t done a fight scene in so long, I really want to do that!"
But, would this brawling be over Ms. Bradshaw?
"Yeah, but it’s got to be some situation where a guy does something really mean and then you defend her," Butler gushed. "That’s what I want to do."
As far as his new acting gig, the former "Switched at Birth" star is loving spending time in the Big Apple.
"It’s been a blast!" Butler said. "It’s exciting now that the show is on the air and we have started to see that people like it, so when we come to set, we have that little bit of extra energy."
"And it’s amazing living and working in New York," he added to HuffPost. "I never really spent that much time here before this, so I’ve been finding my stomping grounds and the cool places to go, so it’s been nice."
The California native also adores hanging out with his onscreen love interest Robb -- his off-screen lady is the lovely Vanessa Hudgens -- who rose to fame playing shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton in the movie "Soul Surfer."
"She’s so down to earth," Butler says of 19-year-old Robb. "She’s a Colorado girl that's really just real and I love that."
"The Carrie Diaries" airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
