As we mentioned before, you can expect a lot more Latinos on the small screen this fall. And one rising star who you should definitely keep your eye on is Melissa Fumero. The One Life To Live vet just booked a role on a high-profile TV pilot starring Andy Samberg.

Poking fun at all the cop dramas we know and love, the untitled Samberg show has some impressive talent behind it. Parks and Recreation masterminds Mike Schur and Dan Goor are producing and The Expendables’ Terry Crews has committed to the cast.

But our attention will definitely be focused on Fumero. The 30-year-old Cubana is fresh off a very memorable stint on Gossip Girl. Now she’ll be playing a hard-nosed detective (and a possible love interest for Andy).

According to Deadline.com, Melissa’s pilot is one of the most promising of the season and Fox has all but confirmed it to the schedule. Let’s just hope it finally gets a name before the premiere date.
