(DETROIT) -- Snowy conditions are expected throughout Detroit and most of southeast Michigan to start off the week.

The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts that snowfall will begin accumulating during rush hour on Monday morning, with snowfall increasing as the morning progresses. Forecasts predict that by early afternoon there should be around two to three inches of snow along and south of Interstate 94.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the NWS for the areas, and remains in effect until 2 p.m. Monday.
