Activist Lilly Ledbetter On The Wage Gap: 'It's Even Worse Today' (VIDEO)

According to the U.S. Census Bureau data, women are making 77 cents for every dollar that men make with the gap even larger for African American and Latino women. Equal pay activist Lilly Ledbetter joins Huffpost Live host Alicia Menendez to discuss this.

The plaintiff in the 2007 Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. employment discrimination case, and the inspiration for the subsequent Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, Lilly cannot believe the issue of the women's wage gap hasn't yet been resolved.

"Today it's even worse," Ledbetter said. "Because people have been made aware of the problem and the situation and what this pay discrimination is doing to the American family to the people across the United States, and no one has stepped up to really make a change."

Asking both Democrats and Republicans to step up and pass a law that addresses women on both sides of the issue, Ledbetter said "this country is really far behind" in equalizing pay for men and women.
