He may be on his way out of the NFL, but it’s clear we haven’t heard the last of Tony Gonzalez. The Atlanta Falcons’ tight end spent this past week hinting at retirement and hyping a new mobile app.

As football fans are well aware, Tony’s Falcons suffered a bitter loss to San Francisco in the Playoffs. And once it was over, the 16-year NFL vet made an interesting revelation to reporters.

“It’s probably the last time I’m going to wear that uniform,” he said. “I didn’t want to take it off, to tell you the truth. All good things come to an end and, like I said all season long, this is probably my last one. What an unbelievable ride.”

But shortly thereafter Gonzalez was back in the headlines, announcing a partnership with the mobile company, FitStar. This spring, they’ll be releasing a FitStar: Tony Gonzalez app for Smartphones and iPads, which lets users maintain their workout schedules online.

The program will include over 60 regimens, all being barked out by “trainer” Tony. And if you ask us, that’s a lot more productive than spending hours with the Angry Birds.
