Aspiring Model Slashed With Razor At Mall

Nicole Kyaw thought she had seen the worst of her assailants' attacks on Facebook. The aspiring model never thought that Internet harassment would come to two women slashing her face with razors at a mall.

Kyaw, an 18-year-old Kentucky native, told WKYT that it's been a week -- her gruesome scars have started to heal -- and police have yet to make an arrest in the case despite her giving them a suspect.

The violence started as annoying comments on Facebook. A women who reportedly has a baby with Kyaw's ex-boyfriend started calling her ugly on the social network.

"She would write me about me doing modeling," Kyaw said. "She would tell me, 'oh you know you're ugly, you need to do sit ups.'"

On Jan. 15, while on her way to work at a clothing store in the Fayette Mall in Lexington, she was approached by two women. She told the New York Daily News that she was tackled by the woman she later identified to police as Kristin Nicole Caldwell. She alleges that Caldwell cut an X into her face with a razor.

Kyaw ran into the store where she works, Urban Nation, and had her manager call 911. When police arrived, she was bleeding profusely.

No arrests have been made.

"I was told they were waiting on a detective," she told the paper. "I’m kind of pissed off. They should have been arrested by now."

Since the attack, Kyaw has seen an outpouring of support on her Twitter page.

"I'm sure you are still prettier than those jealous/pathetic girls that did this to you," Jonathan Chong said. "Don't let this bring you down! Smile!"
