The Washington Humane Society's 12th annual Sugar & Champagne Affair is coming up on Jan. 31.

This year, WHS is honoring "Humane Heroes" -- people who have made a positive difference for animals in the community. Honorees include Nats pitcher Stephen Strasburg, Metropolitan Police Department officer Arthur G. Douglas Jr., reporter Matt Jablow and former WHS board member Marie Drissel.
