Joliet Murders: Disturbing Details Continue To Emerge In Double Strangulation Slaying

Disturbing Details Emerge About Joliet Double Murder Suspects

Nearly a week after the "brutal" and "heinous" double strangulation murders of two Joliet, Ill. men, disturbing information has emerged about the four young adults charged in their slaying.

Ivon "Dorian" Walsh, the ex-girlfriend of one of the murder suspects, told Fox Chicago in a Tuesday interview that during her four-year relationship with Joshua Miner, she dealt with his "control freak" tendencies -- and claimed was even confined within in a room in her mother's home by Miner at one point.

Walsh said she sought a protective order against Miner after he threatened to cut her intestines out and "make a noose out of it and put it over her [baby daughter's] neck and hang her while I would be still alive watching her as I'm slowly dying watching my kid die." Her petition was reportedly denied by a judge.

Walsh previously told Patch that Miner branded her buttocks with a swastika and an upside down cross. Phillip Massaro, the father of 18-year-old Alisa Massaro, another of the suspects in the slaying, also previously sought a protective order against Miner -- and also saw his petition reportedly denied.

Miner, 24, is the only one of the four suspects arrested last week in the strangulation deaths of 22-year-olds Eric Glover and Terrence Rankins with a criminal background, including a 2010 arrest for residential burglary. Adam Landerman, 19, and Bethany McKee, 18, were also charged with first-degree murder and were each ordered held in lieu of $10 million bail last week. McKee is from Shorewood, Ill., while the other suspects are of Joliet.

Police responding to a tip arrived at Massaro's home in the 1100 block of North Hickory Street in Joliet and discovered Rankins' and Glover's bodies, which the four suspects had allegedly attempted to dismember. Joliet Police Chief Mike Trafton has called the scene "one of the most brutal, heinous and upsetting things I've ever seen in my 27 years of law enforcement."

According to CBS Chicago, the suspects and their victims were reportedly "friends" and regularly hung out together. Just two days before he was killed, Rankins' Instagram profile featured a photo taken of Landerman and McKee sitting and facing each other. Landerman, the son of a Joliet police sergeant, is seen with blue markings on his face.

According to police, the four suspects had intended to rob Glover and Rankins when they lured them to the home. After they allegedly strangled them to death, they reportedly proceeded to "party" and play video games together.

Patch reported Wednesday that, according to a source close to the case, the two men were found with plastic bags over their heads and may have been suffocated in addition to being strangled, the men's preliminary cause of death. Additional toxicological testing in the case is ongoing.

The suspects are next expected in court on Feb. 5.
