Bethenny Frankel Talks Jason Hoppy Divorce On 'Ellen': 'I Feel Like A Failure' (VIDEO)

WATCH: Bethenny Frankel Breaks Down During Emotional 'Ellen' Interview

Bethenny Frankel broke down during a candid and emotional interview with Ellen DeGeneres, revealing that she feels like a "failure" in the wake of her split from husband Jason Hoppy.

Frankel sat down with DeGeneres for Tuesday's episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and opened up to the audience about divorcing Hoppy after just two years of marriage.

"I can't just only be on reality TV and show everything when it's the 'fairy-princess fairy tale' and then not take my hits when I have to," Frankel told DeGeneres about her decision to appear on the show so soon after the split. "I've had kind of the best-worst year ever. So I have to [take] the highs and the lows." Adding, "Just going through something personal, you have so many different emotions. I feel like a bit of a disappointment to all of you, and I feel like a failure."

Frankel began to cry and revealed she had received letters from fans who say that, after her split, they no longer believe in love. "This is excruciating," she said. Later continuing, "I never wanted to be a role model, but (to) some people I am or have been. So this is an important time, because it’s about what I do next. How I handle myself now with grace, with dignity. This is the time now that matters."

Before Christmas, the SkinnyGirl mogul and Hoppy, who's a pharmaceutical sales rep, announced they were separating. On Jan. 5, Frankel filed for divorce, TMZ reported.

The reality star is expected open up even more when her namesake daytime talk show, "Bethenny," premieres on Fox later this year.

The recovery process may be painful, but Forbes staff writer Meghan Casserly says she doesn't think the divorce will compromise Frankel's brand.

"What has worked for Bethenny time and time again is she does an amazing job tying her real life/personal life to her to her television/personal life to the branded products she is selling," she told E! News.

Continuing, "When she was booming and single on the Real Housewives franchise, she was selling cocktails to Skinnygirl. When she got married and started having children, she started getting more into nutrition and weight loss products that were tied to her becoming a mother. I don't see her stopping any time soon. It will be interesting to see what type of product lines she starts putting out after this most recent development (divorce)."
