Tina Fey In 'Muppets' Sequel: Golden Globes Host To Play Russian Prison Guard

Tina Fey Lands First Job After '30 Rock'

Tina Fey has landed her first post-"30 Rock" job. According to THR, the actress is negotiating to co-star in the "Muppets" sequel. Fey will play a "Russian gulag prison guard," because of course she will.

Fey, an accomplished author, screenwriter and Emmy-winning television star, hasn't featured in a lot of films over the last decade. She co-starred in "Mean Girls" in 2004 (which she also wrote), and led "Baby Mama" and "Date Night." Fey was also a co-star in "The Invention of Lying," Ricky Gervais' 2009 comedy. The "Muppets" sequel will act as a reunion for the pair: Gervais is slated to play one of the three main human beings in the comedy. Ty Burrell ("Modern Family") has already been cast as an Interpol agent.

This is a busy time for Fey: her run on "30 Rock" is coming to a close at the end of January, and she'll star with Paul Rudd in the comedy "Admission" later this year. Shorter term, she's co-hosting the Golden Globes with Amy Poehler on Sunday, Jan. 13.
