To celebrate the New Year, Justin Verlander and Kate Upton took a Caribbean vacation, in what seems to again confirm the worst-kept celebrity secret of 2012.
The New York Post reports the MLB pitcher, 29, and the 20-year-old supermodel were spotted together at the Ritz-Carlton on St. Thomas in the Caribbean, where they reportedly enjoyed the pool and the grounds of the luxury resort.
This Ritz-Carlton property in the U.S. Virgin Islands offers 180 guest rooms and 30 acres of seclusion on an estate located along Great Bay on the eastern tip of St. Thomas.
One "spy" told the New York Post, “He keeps a conservative distance, but still you can tell they are dating.”
Verlander and Upton met while shooting a video game commercial for MLB 2K12 in February. They've been rumored to be an item since last summer, when they were spotted together several times around Metro Detroit. Both also have a Mitten State connection: Verlander is the Detroit Tigers' ace pitcher, and Upton's uncle, Fred Upton (R-St. Joseph) is a member of the Michigan delegation to the House of Representatives.
