We already knew that Kate Middleton has amazingly enviable hair. But a new poll makes it official(ish): the Duchess of Cambridge tops the list for "Most Iconic Hair Of 2012."
British haircare retailer Fabriah.com conducted the study, which began with a panel of judges selecting their top 20 hair icon followed by a public vote on those picks. Upon polling 1,000 individuals, the Duchess of Cambridge won for Most Iconic Hair, followed by British singer Emeli Sandé and in third place, London mayor Boris Johnson.
Yep, you read that right. As Fabriah.com explained in a press release, "Although his unruly mop-top scored relatively poorly with the judges, huge public support pushed [Johnson] into the bronze medal position."
In other words, the Fabriah.com poll was one big popularity contest. How else to explain the selection of Daniel Craig, Nicole Scherzinger and Pudsey the dog? We love Scherzinger's 'do, but it's a carbon copy of Kim Kardashian's. And Craig? We didn't even realize he had hair.
Kate, on the other hand, truly deserves the vote. Her long waves won us over beginning with the Royal Wedding, but she put us over the top with her chic new bangs this past November. Love 'em or hate 'em, the bangs (and the frenxy surrounding them) certainly cemented her icon status.
