A Los Angeles woman has a filed a lawsuit against the Jonas Brothers claiming that she was crushed by their overzealous fans at a free concert.
Jonas Brothers fan Ashleigh Johnson sued the boy band on Monday, according to E! News, in which she claims she was traumatized after getting crushed by other Jonas fans at a free concert at The Grove in L.A. almost three years ago.
Johnson claims she suffered "severe injury to her body and shock to her nervous system" when she was pinned against a fence at the free show, according to E! News. She also said she faced "great mental ... and nervous pain." She is suing for negligence, claiming that proper security measures were not observed in the outdoor venue, even though a large number of people (including minors) were expected.
The plaintiff, who did not reveal her age also named Caruso Management, the company behind The Grove, for the May 2010 incident, according to TMZ.
At the time of the Grove show, the Jonas Brothers were promoting their last studio album, 2009's "Lines, Vines and Trying Times," notes MTV News. The album, which featured the single "Paranoid," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
This is not the first time a band or artist has been handed a lawsuit because of excitable fans.
In July, Justin Bieber was sued by an Oregon woman who claimed she suffered permanent hearing damage because of Bieber's screaming fans, TMZ previously reported. The woman claimed Bieber "created a wave like effect of screaming by pointing into various sections of the arena" when he floated above the crowd in a heart-shaped aluminum gondola, "then enticed the crowd into a frenzy of screams by continuously waving his arms in a quick and upward motion."
