Dad Surprised With Christmas Puppy Has Adorably Child-Like Reaction (VIDEO)

Phillip Michaels wanted to do something special for his dad this Christmas, but he may not have realized just how excited his father would become when seeing the puppy he brought home.

Luckily, Michaels had his camera ready.

The video of his dad's lighting-fast transformation from man to small child is adorable, but his reaction is all the more touching considering the family lost their beloved dog a short time ago.

In fact, as Gawker notes, the new puppy, a cute and fluffy Havanese-Maltese mix, was from the very same shelter where they found their first dog 15 years before.

The video, which was posted to YouTube on Jan. 1, has already garnered more than 314,000 views. The post also received more than 12,000 upvotes on social news site Reddit.

According to the online forum, the family, which hails from Queens, New York, settled on Monty for the puppy's name.

"[We] went back and forth a little because I was thinking of Woodstock because he had that funky little hairdo and the beady black eyes," Michaels wrote. "Reminded me of Woodstock from the Peanuts."
