Deni Noa, Cape Coral Man, Arrested For Punching Woman, Stripping Naked, And Kicking Cop In Kneecap

Strangest South Florida Arrest Of New Year's Eve

Here's one way to get off on the wrong foot to start the new year: Punch a woman in the face while she's in a car stopped at a traffic light, end up naked at a U.S. 1 boat ramp a short time later, resist your brothers' attempt to toss you in another car's trunk, then kick a cop in the kneecap when you're finally brought to jail.

That strange turn of events happened on New Year's Eve, says the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, and ended with Deni Noa, 24, of Cape Coral booked into the Monroe County Detention Center charged with battery, assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, making threats to a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence and resisting arrest without violence. He remained in jail New Year's Day with no bond allowed.

Here's what happened, according to the Sheriff's Office:

Deputy Spencer Curry responded to a report of an altercation at the Chevron on Stock Island at 9:30 p.m. When he arrived, a witness told him he'd just seen a man -- later identified as Noa -- punch a woman who was driving a car. The victim, like Noa 24, said she was stopped at the light at Cross Street and U.S. 1, site of the Chevron, when Noa reached into her car and punched her in the eye for no apparent reason. He then took off, running north on U.S. 1.

While Curry was getting a description of her attacker, he heard a report over his radio that Deputy Chris Fraser was responding to reports of a man lying in the road near the Key Haven boat ramp just up U.S. 1 from the Chevron. When Fraser arrived there, he saw Noa, naked, on the ground and two other men struggling with him trying to stuff him into the trunk of a car. Curry held all three at Taser-point until Curry could respond as backup.

Turns out the other two men are Noa's brothers, and Noa's shorts were found nearby.

The woman who was punched at the traffic light was brought to the scene and identified Noa as the man who punched her. As deputies tried to handcuff the now-dressed Noa, he refused commands to put his hands behind his back and continually struggled with them. At one point, he threatened to find both deputies when he is released from jail and kill them.

At the jail, he kicked Fraser in a kneecap while in the jail elevator, so he was put in a restraint chair while he was booked. ___
