"The Expendables" may be continuing its action legacy with Jackie Chan. According to Cinema Online (via Coming Soon), Chan is set to appear in the upcoming "The Expendables 3."

"Sly had invited me to be in 'Expendables 2' but I was too busy filming 'CZ12' and couldn't make a commitment to the film. But he did extend his invitation to the third movie, which I agreed on the condition that I will be appearing as more than just a minor role with a few scenes," Chan said. Cinema Online reports that the remarks were made at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur for his Chan's film, "Chinese Zodiac" -- or "CZ12."

A representative for Chan told HuffPost Entertainment that "nothing has been set at this time."

Just last month, reports surfaced that Chan would be retiring from action movies for good. "I'm not young any more, honestly," he told Reuters, citing the dangers involved in making action movies.

The "Expendables" movies have been profitable for Lionsgate, leading to plans for a third film -- or at least rumors of plans. Both films featured an ensemble cast, including Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis.
