Are you sick of eating Doritos the traditional way? After amassing a pretty decent sized stockpile of snack sized bags of Doritos I was, so I figured I'd try something new, and that something involved a beer and bacon batter and my deep fryer! Yep, beer and bacon battered deep fried Doritos!

For the batter I mixed equal parts beer and flour and then threw in some diced bacon pieces. Then I dipped my Doritos in the batter and tossed them into my deep fryer. A few short minutes later I was enjoying my latest deep fried creation!

I wasn't expecting much from this little experiment, but the deep fried Doritos completely blew away my expectations. I was worried that the deep frying process would cause the chips to get soggy, but that wasn't the case at all. In the end they sort of ended up looking like little puff pastries and completely held their crunch.

Tastewise they were amazing. I took a bite of one just to see how they turned out and before I knew it I'd eaten five of them and had to stop myself so I could snap a few pictures before they were completely gone.

It isn't just Doritos that the beer and bacon batter works great with either! I've also used it to make deep fried White Castle sliders and deep fried bacon, which is right up there as one of my favorite things that I've ever made in my deep fryer.
