'Unusual Suspects': Woman Murdered By A Teen She Mentored For Drug Money (VIDEO)

Kindness leading to tragedy. That was the story on "Unusual Suspects." Dana Laskowski was a 38-year-old mother of three in 2001. But even with all of those responsibilities, she still gave more of herself to mentor and try to help troubled young people.

Emily Lauenborg was one of the kids Laskowski was reaching out to. Only 17-years-old at the time, Laskowski never imagined what Lauenborg was capable of. The teen came to Laskowski for drug money. When Laskowski refused, Lauenborg strangled her to death and then stole the money.

But when one of those teens, Emily Lauenborg, came to Dana and asked for drug money, Dana refused. Emily then strangled Dana and stole the money she was after.

Because she was only 17 at the time, Lauenborg served just six years in prison. She was released in 2008 and is currently a free woman.
