"The Killing" might get a Season 3. About five months after AMC canceled the low-rated drama, "The Killing" may be revived, according to Variety.
In early November reports surfaced that AMC and Netflix could continue the drama starring Mireille Enos, now Variety reports Veena Sud and executive producers Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin are back to work on a third season of the drama. The new season will likely premiere in May. Variety reports the Netflix negotiations have not been finalized.
No cast is confirmed, according to Variety.
"The Killing" premiered on AMC in April 2011 with strong ratings -- 2.7 million viewers tuned in to see the start of the "Who killed Rosie Larsen?" mystery. However, the numbers began to slip and after the Season 1 finale failed to answer that question, viewers fled the series in Season 2. The second season kicked off with 1.8 million viewers and the finale dropped to 1.5 million.
AMC recently renewed "Hell On Wheels" for a third season, but then announced its pickup was on hold after showrunner John Shiban left the series while the network searches for a replacement.
