Once dubbed the "soul of romantic comedy," Meg Ryan was an actress who spent most of her time on screen falling in and out of love. She rose to fame while playing the female lead in the iconic film "When Harry Met Sally" and went on to star in rom-coms likes "You've Got Mail," and "Sleepless In Seattle" (show us a woman in the '90s who didn't stay in with Meg Ryan on a Friday night, and we'll show you a liar).
Although Ryan became best known for her film career, it was her famous Sally Hershberger shag that got her picture on the cover of dozens of magazines and, subsequently, inspired hundreds of women at hair salons everywhere, requesting the "Meg Ryan."
In this 1990 photo, the former Mrs. Dennis Quaid was spotted looking fresh-faced at a red carpet event. The Connecticut native sported a tank top style dress (so '90s) and great cherry-colored lipstick. But of course everyone was staring at her hair -- would you be bold enough to try this short 'do?
