When The Power Came Back On In New York: The Celebrations After Superstorm Sandy (VIDEO)

WATCH: When The Lights Came Back On In NYC

Lower Manhattan gave an audible cheer Friday afternoon. After days of living in the dark, the power was back in the East Village, the LES, and Soho.

It was one of the first signs that New York was getting back on its feet since Superstorm Sandy came to town, and spontaneous celebrations broke out on the streets. There were hugs, screams of joy, and laughter.

Watch above for some of the best reactions Friday and hopefully, we can put together another video like this soon, featuring celebrations in the Rockaways, Staten Island, the Bronx, and Brooklyn,
