Suave is the name of the game for "Monuments Men." According to Deadline.com, George Clooney has hired Daniel Craig, Bill Murray and Cate Blanchett to star in his new film, a caper set at the end of World War II. As previously reported by TheWrap, Oscar winner Jean Dujardin will appear in "Monuments Men" as well.
Directed and co-written by Clooney, "Monuments Men" is based on the Robert M. Edsel book "The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves, and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History." The adaptation focuses on a team of art historians who hunt the lost artifacts.
"I'm excited about it," Clooney said to TheWrap in December. "It's a fun move because it could be big entertainment. It’s a big budget, you can’t do it small -- it’s landing in Normandy.”
Clooney told TheWrap that while "Monuments Men" would be commercial, it also "has something to say."
