Vick Ballard Touchdown GIF: Colts RB Soars To End Zone For Game-Winning TD In Overtime (VIDEO)

Colts RB Corkscrews Into End Zone For Game-Winning TD

While Jerome Simpson's epic 2011 touchdown flip was all about balletic grace and vertical leaping, this reckless, game-winning barrel roll by Colts running back Vick Ballard evoked a human cannonball.

Andrew Luck had led the Colts all the way down to Tennessee's 16-yard line on their first possession of overtime and faced a 2nd and 10. The No. 1 overall draft pick dropped back in the pocket and threw a screen pass to Ballard on his left. The rookie running back sprinted down the sideline and easily picked up a first down, but he wouldn't settle for the new set of downs.

Instead, Ballard took flight from the 5-yard line, corkscrewed in mid-air through a couple of Titans defenders and somehow hit the pylon -- with his head -- for the touchdown.

With Twitter erupting, the GIF of the incredible effort didn't take long to arrive.

"They were all around, and I just knew I had to get in," Ballard said after the game, via the Associated Press. "The only way I could get in from the 5 was to jump so I did."

After his miraculous score, Ballard chimed in one more time on Twitter on Sunday.
