For World Food Day, Oxfam America Asks Supporters To Host Meals And Share On Instagram (PHOTOS)

Instagram Your Meal To Raise Awareness For World Food Day!

As we raise awareness and mobilize for the nearly 900 million hungry people worldwide on World Food Day, one organization wants to make a difference with Instagram photos.

Oxfam, a global organization working to free the world from poverty, is inviting supporters to host a meal in honor of World Food Day, take a photo of that meal and then share it on the social network with the hashtag #WFD2012. Oxfam hopes the action will get the word out about hunger and the need to get involved.

Participants can get Oxfam materials to hand out to guests at their feasts, and hosts are encouraged to adhere to the GROW method, which involves eating less meat and supporting small-scale food producers.
