The organizers of the youth-targeting, anti-smoking organization The Truth know their audience. They've created a tie-in mobile game, Flavor Monsters, to appeal to their target demo, and, at this past weekend's New York Comic Con, promoted it by plunking down a booth at the entrance stocked with virtual reality simulators, creature-creating MakerBots, and, most pertinent to our discussion, special effects makeup artist -- and Face Off contestant -- Rod Maxwell, there to realize one of the Flavor Monsters as an horrendous, human/fruit hybrid. (A fruman? A humit? Never mind.)

I dropped by the booth to watch Maxwell at work and ask a few questions.
