It's hard to see the device in this closed-circuit footage, but police in northern England said that this unidentified man stole an iPhone out of a baby's hands as her mom shopped in a clothing store on Sept. 22.
"It appears that the suspect has deliberately targeted a child knowing the crime would be relatively easy to commit," Lancashire police inspector Andy Willis told the Sun.
Danielle Hinnigan, the child's mother, reportedly gave her 20-month-old daughter, Luella Reid, the iPhone so that she could watch "Barney & Friends." A security camera caught the man sneaking up to the young girl and nonchalantly pilfering the phone.

Apple devices such as iPhones are popular targets among thieves. In September, Usman Sethi, a 23-year-old employee at a south London mobile phone store, was accused of stealing 250 iPhone 5 devices less than a day before they went on sale.
In late 2011, a "picky mugger" that operated in the vicinity of Columbia University in New York held up victims and demanded their iPhones, but refused to take BlackBerry devices, according to DNAinfo.
But thieves don't always get away with it. In July, a "good samaritan" in New York chased down and tackled a thief that had stolen an iPhone out of a woman's hands, NBC news reports.
