MSNBC's Phil Griffin: I Want To Poach Shep Smith From Fox News

Shep Smith: Wanted By MSNBC

Paging Shep Smith: MSNBC wants you!

Or Phil Griffin does, at least. The president of the network told the Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday that, out of all the competition in cable-land, Smith is the one he'd want to poach and bring into his stable.

And why not? Smith is an iconoclastic, entertaining voice who has been repeatedly praised by MSNBC anchors for his willingness to break out of the Fox News pack.

Griffin laid his heart out on the line for Smith, telling THR, "I just like his way. I like everything about him."

Sadly for MSNBC, Smith is locked into a multi-year contract for the foreseeable future.
