Susan Sarandon Style Evolution: Blazers, Button-Downs & Glasses Galore (PHOTOS)

Those glasses! Those glasses.

Who would attend a Donna Karan runway show in sneakers? Who would walk the red carpet in sheer panty hose with open-toed kitten heels? Who would wear Ray-Bans with her glittering Emmys gown? Susan Sarandon, that's who.

The actress, who turns 66 on October 4, has always marched to the beat of her own sartorial drum. From the time of her '70s debut, most memorably in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," Sarandon has managed to exude a louche sensuality clad in unsexy attire -- boxy blazers, menswear shirts, high-waisted pants, long skirts, flat shoes and the like.

She's worn giant plastic-rimmed glasses when they were trendy... and when they weren't. She's worn those loose button-downs when they were trendy... and when they weren't. The same goes for her flat shoes, including sneakers (which are basically never trendy at all).

In other words, Susan has a tried-and-true style all her own, something that's been celebrated by the likes Uniqlo and Neiman Marcus.

And now, by us! In honor of Sarandon's 66th birthday, here's a look back at the actress' signature fashion sense.
