Suspected Pot Head Busted For Marijuana Twice In One Hour

A Vermont man got smoked when he allegedly decided to light up after getting a summons for marijuana possession.

Williston Police say that Hassan Ali was arrested, cited and released on Saturday when they found him and two other people with weed in an apartment building, WPTZ reports. But it wouldn't be the last time he'd be in handcuffs that night.

The investigation began with Taralin Hopper, 21, who cops were looking for in connection to a $28,000 jewelry theft and a felony warrant. Officers went to her apartment and collared her, issued a citation to Ali and left a third woman in the apartment alone. But back at the police station, cops realized that the third woman -- Amanda Bevins, 20 -- also had a warrant out for her arrest, according to the Associated Press.

When cops returned to arrest Bevins, they found that Ali had allegedly bought more marijuana during the hour that they were gone.

"They were able to identify the smell of marijuana that led to yet again another investigation," Joshua Moore of Williston police told WPTZ.

Ali was arrested -- again -- and taken to jail, according to Yahoo! News. Bevins was also arrested.

In court this week, Ali pleaded not guilty to charges of marijuana possession.
