Mayim Bialik PETA Ad: 'The Big Bang Theory' Star Says 'Go Vegan' (VIDEO)

'The Big Bang Theory' Star Goes Vegan In New PETA Ad

Mayim Bialik, of the award-winning show "The Big Bang Theory," speaks out in support of a vegan lifestyle in a new ad with animal rights organization, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

For the ad, Bialik plays a 1950s housewife happily tossing a piece of steak into a trash can under the sign "It's a No-Brainer: Go Vegan!"

A vegan in her own life, Bialik talks with PETA about how she decided to embrace a vegan lifestyle.

"I think the most significant shift for me was I used to feel guilty," Bialik told PETA. "Even as a child, I felt very guilty about eating animals and never knew that there was something to do about it. And as I got older, it became clearer that there are things that I can do and choices I can make."

Becoming vegan was a natural decision for Bialik, one that she says has changed her life for the better.

"I've never had a sinus infection or been on antibiotics since cutting out dairy...I've noticed that my true seasonal allergies are much less severe now that I've cut out dairy which is amazing to me."
