Right-Wing Columnist Calls Gay Activism A 'Religion' While Defending Flawed Parenting Study

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) advocacy is apparently a religion -- at least in the eyes of one right-wing pundit.

As Right Wing Watch is reporting
, attorney and conservative columnist Shawn Akers took to the airwaves of the "Faith and Freedom" radio program last week, condemning LGBT rights advocates who criticized Mark Regnerus' controversial study on same-sex parenting, which has since been deemed flawed.

"The political correctness of [the liberal] propaganda is what's dominating even a scientific study," Akers declares in the broadcast. "It didn't really whether the study was valid or arguable...all that mattered was that it was against the propaganda, and therefore, it was heresy."

Of course, Akers conveniently overlooks the fact that it wasn't just LGBT advocates and proclaimed liberals who found fault with Regnerus' research, but also a number of top psychologists.
