Barack Obama Fundraiser In LA: $44 Tickets On Sale Now For Young Supporters (VIDEO)

$44 Ain't Bad!

As President Barack Obama said in response to Republican challenger Mitt Romney's "47 percent" comment, "if you want to be president, you have to work for everyone, not just for some."

In that spirit, tickets costing $44 have just been made available for the president's Oct. 7 fundraiser concert in Los Angeles.

The event is being held at the Nokia Theater in downtown with to-be-announced musical performers. The Obama campaign originally said in an email that the $44 tickets were for Obama's "Gen44" crowd of under-40 donors and volunteers. But a campaign staffer told HuffPost Wednesday that supporters do not actually have to be under 40 to buy the $44 tickets. The staffer could not say how many tickets are being made available, but said they were sure to sell quickly.

The affordable tickets are a clear gesture to the president's young supporters, who galvanized a lot of momentum for his 2008 campaign.

Of course, much larger amounts of money will also be a part of Obama's Los Angeles trip, per usual. After the concert, he'll be attending a $40,000-per-couple dinner hosted by movie producer Jeffrey Katzenberg.

This isn't the first time Obama has made $44 tickets available for a large fundraiser. But after Jay-Z and Beyonce's event with a $105,00-champagne tower and $40,000 tickets, many are sure to appreciate the president remembering the little guy.

Tickets to rock with the POTUS can be purchased here.
