National Hispanic Heritage Month 2012: We Pay Tribute To Frida Kahlo's Iconic Style (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: We Pay Tribute To Frida Kahlo's Iconic Style In Honor Of National Hispanic Heritage Month

In case you didn't know, National Hispanic Heritage Month is upon us. This 30-day period lasting from September 15 to October 15 celebrates the rich history of Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. So what better way to join in on the celebration than paying tribute to one of our favorite hispanic style icons, Frida Kahlo?

The Mexican painter not only made a lasting impact in the art world, but she also immensely influenced the fashion world since her death in 1954. In fact, we personally credit her with inspiring us to forego eyebrow tweezers altogether. Aside from her iconic brows, Frida has also become known for how she rocked braids, traditional shawls and some pretty fantastic jewelry (think: chunky necklaces and epic chandelier earrings).

And since fashion tributes pop up on the catwalk quite frequently, we thought it would be nice to take a look at the actual icon in question. Click through the slideshow for some of Frida Kahlo's best fashion moments caught on camera.
