The Sugar Land Skeeters of the Atlantic League have signed Roger Clemens, as was first reported by Fox 26 In Houston.

Per ABC 13 in Houston, Clemens will join the team on Friday and get the ball on Saturday for his first start at Constellation Park.

Having received information on the deal before it was even finalized from the Skeeters' front office and Clemens' agent, Fox 26 reported that right-handed pitcher with 354 wins on his MLB resume worked out for the team on Monday and impressed enough to earn a contract.

According to the Skeeters' website, Clemens is pitching on Saturday at Constellation Park. More importantly, tickets are still available and include an all-you-can-eat buffet and pool access. Even if Clemens' return to the mound proves uninspiring this certainly seems like a fun night out for anyone in the Houston area.

If the Rockets' relaunch out of retirement isn't enough to lure you out to Constellation Park then perhaps Human Fireball is a better draw. Before signing Clemens, the game on Saturday night was supposed to include an appearance from this fiery attraction.

With his fastball clocked at 87 mph, per Fox 26, Clemens might not be coming with heat quite like that Human Fireball but presumably he's got enough in the tank to handle the Bridgeport Bluefish for a few innings.

The 50-year-old Clemens last pitched in an MLB game on Sept. 16, 2007, going six frames for the New York Yankees without allowing an unearned run. New York would defeat Clemens' old team, the Boston Red Sox, 4-3. In June 2012, the seven-time Cy Young Award winner was found not guilty of perjury relating to his denial to using performance-enhancing drugs.
