Venice Beach Zip Line Project Moves Along

The Latest On The Venice Zip Line

The Venice Beach zip line project is, well, zipping along after delays.

The proposed zip line would allow participants to essentially fly across Venice Beach, over a 700-foot track, reports ABC.

While the opening of the zip line was delayed by concerned residents and business owners (who managed to stall the original July 1 opening), the project is now back on track, according to the Los Angeles Times. The City Council unanimously voted to reject the appeal by the concerned residents.

Once approved by the California Coastal Commission, the attraction would work as a three-month pilot project, says ABC.

Unfortunately for the LA City Council and construction company Greenheart Conservation Co., the zip line will probably open towards the end of the tourist season, in August or September, the Times tells us. While natives will be able to enjoy the $20 joy ride, people who flocked to the beach for summer vacation will miss out.
