Olympics 2012: Italian Volleyball Player Gets Win And Marriage Proposal

WATCH: The Adorable Way This Olympian Celebrated Her Win

The Italian volleyball team is one step closer to Olympic gold after defeating Japan on Monday, but one team member already has a little bling of her own.

Italy's Antonella Del Core went to meet her boyfriend after the match. Already filled with the excitement of the win, Del Core didn't know she was about to experience another big moment when her boyfriend Francesco dropped to one knee and pulled out an engagement ring.

According to a press release from the International Volleyball Federation, the Italian wing spiker accepted his proposal after a few tears of joy.

The Olympics have unofficially sponsored another proposal in 2012. One torch bearer paused to propose to his girlfriend earlier this summer.

Other sports fans' proposals haven't gone as planned. Just this week, a Chicago Cubs fan's proposal lit up the jumbotron at Wrigley Field, but his girlfriend missed the Big Question when she went for a beer.
