Despite its fiercely loyal fan base, it's no secret that "Parks And Recreation" hasn't seen the best ratings throughout its four seasons. But just as Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) was able to win over the town of Pawnee, the cast of the NBC series has managed to beat the odds.

"It's amazing that we're still on," Jones said. "We've been in this phase where we're, like, on the bubble for the entire time we've been on the air and the truth is, it's kinda good.

"It's brought us closer together because we seriously, legitimately appreciate every single minute that we spend together, because we're always hearing that it might be limited, so we just go with it."

"Parks" may be Jones' home base, but she recently turned her attention to screenwriting as the co-writer of the film "Celeste And Jesse Forever," which hits theaters on Friday.

“It’s funny, I didn’t think [screenwriting] was an ambition, but I must have really, really suppressed it,” she said in an interview with THR. “I recently found this little thing I found in the third grade about what I wanted to do in the future, and I said I wanted to write movies, and I never thought about it again until a couple of years ago ... I didn’t think I was capable, and I felt like you had to be anointed a writer to be a writer. And then I realized, you get into your 30s and that you just have to do the work. You just have to not be afraid."

"Parks And Recreation" returns to NBC in the fall on Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. ET. For more on Jones, head over to Rolling Stone.
