Susan Lucci On Investigation Discovery: 'Deadly Affairs,' New Soap Star Hosted Block Launching

Soap Stars Get New Gigs

Missing Susan Lucci at 1 p.m.? You're in luck because Investigation Discovery is previewing Lucci's new series, "Deadly Affairs," in the former "All My Children" timeslot on Sept. 3. And that's not all the network is doing to fill the soap opera void.

At the Television Critics Association summer press tour, the network announced "Days OF Our Knives," a new programming block hosted by soap stars. Each week the block of programs will have a different theme and different stars of various soaps introducing the true-life programming.

Wicked Women Week, Aug. 27-31

Double Lives Week, Sept. 17-21

Family Secrets Week, Sept. 24-27
Hosted by Austin Peck and Terri Conn, who played Brad and Katie Snyder, a couple on "As the World Turns" and are married in real life.

"Investigation Discovery's explosive ratings growth reflects the fact that it has found the perfect recipe for expert storytelling and packaging of these real-life soap operas that leave our fans wanting more,” Henry Schleiff, president and general manager of Investigation Discovery, said in a statement. “The addition, today, of the incomparable Susan Lucci, who will now lend a voice to these tales of twisted love triangles, further underscores our efforts to make ID the leading destination for compelling stories of crimes of passion."

"Deadly Affairs" officially premieres on Sat., Sept. 8 at 10 p.m. ET.
