The U.S. gymnastics team had another big win on Day 6 of the 2012 London Summer Olympics when Gabby Douglas took gold in the women's gymnastics individual all-around competition. The gold medal is the second Douglas has won this week, following the exciting outcome of the team competition, in which the U.S. took the top prize for the first time since 1996.

Russia's Maria Sharapova advanced to the women's singles tennis semifinals after winning straight sets against Kim Clijsters of Belgium. Sharapova will face Russian teammate Maria Kirilenko Friday as U.S. tennis star Serena Williams, who won her match today, is set to play Victoria Azarenka of Belarus.

Rebecca Soni took gold for the U.S. in the women's 200m breaststroke, beating Japan and Russia, who took silver and bronze. For the men, Tyler Clary edged out teammate Ryan Lochte, taking gold in the 200m backstroke. Japan's Ryosuke Irie followed closely behind, winning silver, and Lochte took bronze.

Thursday's events include qualifying rounds in badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, equestrian, field hockey, handball, rowing, sailing, tennis, volleyball and water polo -- plus medal events in archery, canoeing, cycling, fencing, gymnastics, judo, shooting, swimming and table tennis.
