Just over a month after his last Chicago fundraiser, Vice President Joe Biden returned to President Obama's hometown for another campaign fundraising event.
Biden hosted a re-election luncheon fundraiser at a downtown hotel Monday, according to the Chicago Tribune, with proceeds benefiting Obama for America, as well as the Democratic National Committee and other Democratic groups.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Mayor Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod were also expected to be on hand for the event, which began at 1:15 p.m. Tickets started at $500 and went up to $5,000-per-person.
Biden was last in Chicago to fundraise in June, following the wedding of Valerie Jarrett's daughter, NBC Chicago reports.
Obama is expected to return to Chicago next month, marking his 51st birthday with "a little celebration" doubling as a fundraiser. His 2011 birthday celebration in Chicago raised a cool $3.6 million between three separate events held over the course of about three hours.
Last month, for the first time in the election, the Republican National Committee and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney out-fundraised the DNC and the Obama campaign.
