Kelly Osbourne Opens Up About Breakdown On Flight: Star 'Lost It' Over Brother's Illness

Kelly Osbourne Opens Up About Breakdown On Flight

It's been a rough couple of weeks for members of the Osbourne family, who are all dealing with Jack's recent multiple sclerosis diagnosis, but it's truly taken a toll on his older sister Kelly.

On Wednesday it was reported that Kelly became so drunk on a recent flight from Los Angeles to Atlanta that she was basically carried off the plane by her assistant.

Less than 24 hours after the June 19 flight, Kelly even tweeted about the incident, writing, "had a nerves breakdown yesterday that was cool! #Not."

Now, the "Fashion Police" co-host, who has publicly struggled with drug and alcohol abuse, has decided to open up about her emotional breakdown.

"I got drunk on the plane to Atlanta. It was on an empty stomach, and before I got on the plane a gentleman came up to me and asked me how my brother was doing and told me about his brother having MS and directed me towards a website," Kelly told RadarOnline.

The former reality star explained that she began looking at the recommended website once aboard the plane and was horrified by descriptions of how bad certain cases of multiple sclerosis can get.

"It made me lose it because I've sat through my mother having breast cancer, my dad almost dying from a bike accident, and now it's my brother who's my best friend," she told the website.

Kelly told the website she decided to be completely honest about her breakdown, adding that dealing with her brother's illness isn't an excuse for getting drunk. The 27-year-old star has made four trips to rehab over the years, but says that she has "the occasional drink" and will "never lie about that."

Kelly also pointed out that she didn't cause any problems on the flight and simply had to be helped off the plane once it had landed. "The way I live my life after going to rehab is not the way most people do ... Yes, I still drink and I've always said that ... I'm not using [drugs], I haven't. I won't. I'm not going to do that," she explained, adding that it's unfortunate that she decided to have a drink on a plane and burst into tears.

Despite the breakdown, it's clear that Kelly has a tight family who are working through her brother's diagnosis together, and judging by a recent tweet, it seems she has the support of her current beau, Matthew Mosshart. Kelly recently posted a photo with her newest man, writing: "I'm in love and I don't care who knows about it!"
