Blagojevich In Prison: Former Illinois Governor Reportedly 'Bored' In Colorado Prison

Report: Blagojevich 'Bored,' Wants To Teach In Colorado Prison

Former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich is "totally bored" by prison life, according to a report from his former attorney.

The Chicago Sun-Times' Michael Sneed reports that according to attorney Sam Adam Jr., Blagojevich, 55, is still spending much of his time washing dishes in the kitchen of the Englewood, Co. prison where he began a 14-year prison sentence for his federal corruption convictions in March.

What the former governor, or inmate No. 40892-424, would like to do is teach, according to the Sun-Times, but the prison has reportedly yet to allow him to switch off kitchen duty.

Blagojevich was previously slated to switch to teaching -- either Shakespeare or ancient Greek philosophy and mythology -- after 90 days.

Patti Blagojevich visited her husband at the suburban Denver facility last month and described the prison as "one of the saddest places on earth." The former governor previously told his attorneys that the hardest thing about prison life is missing Patti and his two young daughters.
