When Will McCain Tell Obama About Osama?

Maybe, just maybe, McCain always had as much of a chance of finding Osama as Sarah Palin did of winning the National Geographic's geography bee.

The controversial U.S. missile strikes on suspected Islamic terrorists in Pakistan and Afghanistan over the last few days reminded me of John McCain's defiant campaign promise about Osama bin Laden. If you recall the HuffPost story back in July, McCain proclaimed in an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer:

Look, I know the area...and I know how to improve our capabilities so that we will capture Osama bin Laden -- or put it this way, bring him to justice... We will do it, I know how to do it.

For those skeptics who may have wondered why "America First" patriot McCain didn't immediately share that information with President Bush -- well, what's a few more months of terrorist-mastermind-freedom compared to the opportunity to win an election? But now that the erstwhile Republican presidential candidate is back in the Senate and Barack Obama has been installed as the 44th President of the United States, don't you think McCain might have whispered a few hints on the topic into Obama's ear after that nice testimonial dinner Obama sponsored in McCain's honor?

Or perhaps McCain is saving his bagging bin Laden tips for BFF Hillary Clinton?

Or maybe, just maybe, McCain always had as much of a chance of finding Osama as Sarah Palin did of winning the National Geographic's geography bee.
