Bradley Mitchell, 10-Year-Old Arizona Boy, Performs CPR, Saves Mom After Car Crash

Boy, 10, Instinctively Performs CPR, Saves Mom After Devastating Car Crash

When Bradley Mitchell’s mom was ejected from the family's car after a devastating crash, the 10-year-old boy instinctively knew what to do.

He first helped his brother and sister out of the vehicle and then raced over to his unconscious mother to perform lifesaving CPR, azfamily.com reports.

"I went over and gave her a few breaths," Bradley told azfamily.com. "It just came naturally. I've seen it on TV a couple times."

Bradley’s mom, Amanda, suffered a broken neck, pelvis and ribs, along with severe internal injuries, after the December accident, but survived because of her son's quick and brave actions. For his heroism, the Arizona fourth grader was recently named an honorary firefighter.

"He means everything to me," Amanda Mitchell told the news outlet of her son. "Without him I wouldn't be here, and I'll never forget that."
